Woodland campsites in east sussex
The best place to get together with friends with kids. There is a great walk through the valley to a pub and the campfires make it very special.
All the sites are spaced well apart and privacy is not an issue at all, something the owners believe is important.
There is a camp site policy of respecting fellow campers and late night noise (after 11pm), is not tolerated but noise certainly was not a problem during our stay.
As for the facilities on site, don't go if you're expecting lavish shower blocks and a camp shop, there are two eco loos, which are kept in excellent order, and as for a 'camp shop', you can buy logs for the fire pits at each pitch, and I believe that you might be able to buy farm eggs from the owners.
If you need anything else, there is a small local shop down the road, and Waitrose in East Grinstead is ten minutes away.
As for showers, you can improvise, as we did (the weather was kind and we had a small shower tent with us! Having booked into Evergreen Farm for 9 nights, we loved it so much we extended our stay by an extra 3, and actually would have liked to stay for even longer.
